Our Museum Takes Shape

Paradise Valley Estates is home to a growing “museum.” The Wall of Remembrance Committee has been busy gathering an impressive military heritage museum, which is planned for permanently display just outside the main dining room and steps down from The Club. These items are on loan or donated by PVE residents.

So far, we have World War I and World War II items on display, including an aviation helmet and goggles similar to Amelia Earhart’s. We have sand and rock fragments from Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc that were collected on the 70th anniversary of the invasion at Normandy. We also have a medical kit, shoulder epaulets and a fore and aft hat on loan from Jeanne Michael. These are from World War I when her husband Mike’s father was a Navy doctor.

We hope you will add your own treasures for all of us to see. Yes, PVE was built on our military heritage. Over the next few years the committee will be working on this project. When it is complete, we will have the only continuing care retirement community with a museum of military treasures from the past for residents and their families to enjoy.
