Dive in to 2016!

Swimming is one of the safest forms of exercise. The natural buoyancy of water allows one to move better and its also a natural cushion for joints making exercise much easier. Swimming can improve your flexibility and joint range of motion. This is why the PVE Fitness Department just started a new class for residents who are passionate about swimming.

As we know, water exercise improves body strength and endurance, plus with improvements in stroke technique, we can improve overall efficiency and performance in the pool. Swimming is a full body workout that uses all muscle groups. The water provides the body with a natural resistance. Kickboards, pull buoys give extra stability and improve your workout. The aerobic endurance from swimming increases fitness and energy levels.

Have you wondered how to swim elementary backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly or glide across the pool with an underwater kick? Well, now is the time to learn. Individual stroke instruction and technique can be customized or modified based on individual needs. In addition, learning a new stroke is fun and challenging.

Whether you can swim one lap or 50, you can still make a splash in 2016!
