Grand Ol’ Opry Visits PVE

Well, not quite! However, “Ricky Harris and the Grand Ol’ Opry Players” did come to PVE on a Friday evening to play some delightful country and western music for a “sellout” crowd in the parking lot adjacent to the Café.

The evening was balmy with very little wind. The foursome belted out some pretty amazing tunes to the crowd’s delight. Ricky Harris is a very talented singer and his band was pretty awesome. It wasn’t long before the crowd really got into the scene, as the saying goes.

The PVE line dancers showed up and wowed the crowd with their moves. My two left feet prevented me from participating – but they enthusiastically tapped to the music under my table.

PVE’s life enrichment team did a fantastic job setting up and managing this event. Tables and chairs were placed all around the parking lot, and dining services provided whiskey sours, bottled beer and punch at no charge for the crowd. I think there was no need to check IDs!

This was the first outdoor event in the parking lot – I believe there are a few more scheduled later in the summer. Be sure to come on down to the next event as everyone had a “hootin’ and hollerin’” great time this time around.
