Welcome New Residents!

Every quarter, the marketing department brings the entire campus together for a fun event, our New Resident Reception! Each resident is invited to meet and mingle with all of the new residents from the past three months.

With chairs lining Rawlinson Hall, three large tables are spread out through the room, each one with a little treat four guests. Along with refreshments and a beautifully designed cheese platter and fruit tray, guests can enjoy two hot hors d’oeuvres, which vary from reception to reception. At our last gathering, we were delighted by crab cakes and BBQ chicken wings. In the far corner, a bartender stands ready to pour wine or cocktails to the resident’s taste buds.

The reception begins at 4 p.m. and it isn’t long before a joyous crowd fills the hall. New residents — a total of 22 people from 13 moves at our last reception — don colorful leis, which they can use to get a free drink at the bar.

Later, after everyone has arrived and caught up on all the goings on of our vibrant community, each new resident is formally introduced to the crowd by a marketing team member. The party continues after everyone is introduced with more mingling and merriment. Our new resident reception is a wonderful event for all who attend and deepens the beautiful camaraderie that comes naturally at PVE. It’s great to see the many new friendships that bloom!
