An Unforgettable Dog Park Happy Hour
Just when you thought you were safe. Using a Nikon SLR (he left his cell phone at home), Donald Terleski captured this shot of a surprise attack by a pack of pure and mixed-breed poodles on local resident, Joel Levinson. Startled and peppered with dog drool, Joel was joyfully robbed of a small amount of gourmet dog treats.* Midget ringleader Tootsie Roll led the airborne wing of the assault.
Most startling was the lack of attention from nearby bystanders, who seemed to act like they were at a birthday party for the ten-year-old Labradoodles, Henry and Eddie. But who was most disappointed with the robbery? Joel’s service dog Olga. As an outsider in the coordinated “attack,” she did not get her fair share of the loot.
While getting the scoop on his iconic photo, Donald, a resident safety committee member, took the opportunity to caution residents against carrying dog treats in obvious, accessible locations like Dick San Miguel’s right jacket pocket or Pete Wolffe’s left trouser pocket.
Visitors to the Paradise Valley Estates dog park are routinely vetted by security dogs like Fossie and Tess, and Scotty Ash monitors all tunnel access. Donald urged all residents to be prepared for the unexpected except cats. Cats are routinely denied entry by the park vetters.
