Three Ways to Celebrate Independence Day in Fairfield, CA

Start the day with a delicious breakfast at the annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast from 8-10:30 a.m. The fundraiser, which supports Boy Scouts of America Troop 482, will be held at the Moose Family Center, 623 Taylor St. in Fairfield. Tickets are $8.50 (purchase online) or $8 if purchased directly from a scout.

After breakfast head over to Texas Street for Fairfield’s Independence Day Parade from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. This year’s theme is True to the Red, White & Blue so get ready to enjoy a festive celebration of dancers, music, marching and drill units, walking groups, and plenty of costumed hilarity. Parade participants will compete for cash and placement prizes so come cheer your local favorites.

Later, head to the Suisun City Waterfront July 4th Celebration early enough to enjoy the free live music, food and craft vendors, and family-friendly amusement rides. Check out local performances at the Suisun City Waterfront from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. followed by live music from acts including the AC Myles Blues Band (2-4 p.m.), The Soultones (4:30-6:30 p.m.) and the Department of Rock (7-9 p.m.) Stick around for the headliner — the huge fireworks display over the waterfront — presented by TNT Fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
