The Ridge Crosses New Construction Milestones
When we anticipated what spring could do to our construction schedule, we thought maybe we’d have to work around some extended bouts of rain. We did not expect to be contending with a global pandemic that would begin in March and continue into summer with no end in sight. Thankfully, with construction at The Ridge classified as essential, work was allowed to continue as long as safety accommodations were made for workers at the jobsite.
In just a few short months, much progress has been made and it’s easier than ever to see.
The Shasta cottages are framed, roofed and have mechanicals, electrical and plumbing in place and inspected. Framing, roofing and mechanicals are underway in the Whitney and Cascade cottages. The villa buildings are rising floor by floor with rough-in electrical and plumbing in progress on the lower levels. The Environmental Center, Amenities Building and wood shop are framed, and roofing has begun. Club House steel, underground utilities and the concrete floor are in place.
Project director Roger Breeding notes the cottages were roofed, the villas went up multiple stories, and the Amenities Building was framed and roof sheeted — all within about a one-week period. That’s even better news when you consider that The Ridge is already more than 70 percent reserved with completion projected for 2021.
