PVE & PGA HOPE: Giving Back to Our Local Veterans
Members of the PVE Fisher House Golf Committee recently delivered a $2,500 check to PGA HOPE at their Vacaville headquarters. The tournament committee partnered with PGA HOPE for our tournament in June.
Shown at the check presentation (from left to right) are Chris Thomas, NorCal PGA Executive Director; Alex Kosmin, Bob Epperly, PGA HOPE Lead Instructor; Bruce Bartels, Susy Schneider, NorCal PGA Programs Coordinator; Nancy Maul, NorCal PGA Foundation Managing Director; and Vern Chong.
This is the third year Paradise Valley Estates has sponsored this tournament at Fisher House . The tournament benefits the Travis Air Force Base Fisher House. Fisher House at Travis Air Force Base provides a home-away-from-home for military and veteran families while their loved one is receiving medical care for serious illnesses. This is all done at no cost to the family. Fisher House operates solely on donations.
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is a program that pairs PGA golf professionals with military veterans, many who are disabled. Cypress Lakes, the golf course at Travis Air Force Base is it’s locally-based home.
PGA HOPE was kind enough to provide three golf pros at our tournament to help players during their warm up on the driving range and sponsored four veterans to play in our tournament. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them next year.
