New on The Ridge: Betty and Ray Silva

With construction of The Ridge in its earliest stages, we sat down with two of our new neighborhood’s Summit Club members, Betty and Ray Silva, for a chat about their planned move to Paradise Valley Estates.

Although construction isn’t anticipated to be complete on the new 70-residence, eight-acre neighborhood until 2020, the Silvas already appreciate one of the most appealing aspects of their new home: the protected hillside view.

“We like our view,” says Betty. “We like our backyard. We have wide-open space. We have hills, and it’s just a beautiful environment.”

It was important to the Silvas that their new home offer plenty of room both outside and inside. “The space was very important to us because we do have dogs, and I’m a country girl,” laughs Betty. “I don’t really like somebody’s back door right next to my kitchen window, and I like the fact that there is some space between the units.”

The Ridge is a next-generation vision of active adult living that includes a host of contemporary cottages, villas and penthouses designed to connect homeowners to the natural beauty and engaging lifestyle that’s synonymous with Northern California.

The Silvas anticipate more than an enjoyable new lifestyle. They’re looking forward to getting to know their neighbors, some of whom they’ve already met at community events.

“All the residents we’ve met are super friendly,” says Ray. “They take time to talk to you and answer your questions.” Betty adds, “They’ve been very accepting and very warm and welcoming. They’ve been more than willing to invite us into their units to show us different things.”

“The moment we visited we felt this was a good fit for us,” says Betty. “The more we talked to the residents here, we know it is. We can hardly wait to come!”
