Exerstride Your Way to Better Health
Unlike walking, exerstriding is a total body exercise that provides numerous benefits for people of all ages. Derived from an original form of Nordic walking, this synergistic exercise—in synergy, several things acting together produce a result greater than the sum of individual efforts—develops core fitness as you stride using strengthening and muscle resistance. It is extremely efficient, accomplishing more in less time with little risk of injury and maximum benefits.
As a weight-bearing exercise, exerstriding can help you maintain or build overall bone density. It improves aerobic capacity; muscle, joint, bone and lymph function; and can improve your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It’s also an effective tool for physical therapy and rehabilitation after hip and knee surgery.
Exerstride class meets once a week: Thursday mornings at 9:15 a.m. by the Wellness Center. Exerstriding poles with rubber tips are provided. Wear comfortable clothing and exercise shoes, and come ready to enjoy the great outdoors!
Exercise doesn’t have to be about working harder—it’s about working smarter to reach your fitness goals. Join us for a brisk walk and exerstride your way to better health!
