Life Here

It’s Almost Bocce Season at PVE!

Many PVE residents have seen the new bocce ball court that is under construction near the Pavilion. The cement work is complete; the shade structures are in place.

There is some additional cosmetic work that needs to be done, but it is almost ready to go. There is still a chill in the air, but I’m feeling the itch to get the ball rolling—pun intended. With a second court, there will be ample time for team practice sessions and for additional games during the season.

My wife and I first learned about bocce when we arrived at PVE in late September 2015. We quickly discovered it was a big component of the social scene here at PVE. In January, we were invited to join a team. We said yes, of course, and practice sessions began sometime in March.

If you are invited to join a team – please give it serious consideration and then say, “Yes!” It’s great fun, a wonderful way to meet your neighbors and new residents, and it gives you a chance to enjoy the great outdoors.
