Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America with more than 150,000 players over the age of 55.
A combination of tennis, ping pong and badminton, this hybrid pastime is played with a paddle and plastic ball on a smaller portion of existing tennis courts. Current and former enthusiasts of any of these games make great candidates for Pickelball. In particular, it is ideal for retired tennis players because it demands less running.
We play Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m and have named our team The PVE Pickleheads, which indicates that we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
Residents interested in learning the game simply arrive at the tennis court where Linda Jaffe, our Pickleball Coach, gets them started.
PVE supplies paddles and balls and awards a Pickleball t-shirt to all regular players. The fun, of course, also comes standard.
