“Great shot,” I called out as one of my foursome hit the ball right down the middle. We were playing golf at the Paradise Valley Golf Club, one of two beautiful courses owned and run by the city of Fairfield, California. Our foursome was part of the monthly Paradise Valley Estates golf club scramble event. The golf club uses the scramble format to allow everyone who wants to play to get a chance. Our foursome is mixed with both men and women playing. Today there are seven foursomes playing. This evening we will all attend our monthly “Moaners & Groaners” dinner to celebrate the great day of golf. Winners are announced, silly prizes awarded, and we enjoy a gourmet meal from our excellent dining services staff. In addition to the monthly golf outing, we have many other groups who play golf on a weekly basis, both men and women. Now it’s my turn to hit the ball. Wish me luck.
Golfers and non-golfers alike enjoy the ambiance afforded by PVE’s campus being virtually surrounded by the golf course. The club house is only one mile from PVE’s gate; the club has a well-stocked pro shop, extensive driving range, nice restaurant with full bar and reasonable green fees. Does it get any better than this?
Golf is only one of many sports activities here at PVE. We also enjoy swimming, tennis, pickleball, bocce, horseshoes, etc.
