The Sharp Shooters broke the ice today with a 12-10 win for our first bocce game of the season. Yea, team! A 9:00 a.m. start time meant bundle up. For Team 6 that meant blue jeans, turtle neck sweaters, denim jackets. Our captain wore Roper boots, belt with bull rider buckle, and a Stetson. My theory is, if you are going to be decked out in showy outfits, you had better win your game. Good thing we did.
PVE is in a Mediterranean climate, ideal for outdoor sports. Mornings in April are cool, in the 50’s when we played, but by 10:15 a.m. the next up teams will be peeling off jackets and rolling up their sleeves. Love Northern California! Three days left to practice until Game 2.
